The world's largest voluntary health agency. They are devoted to reducing disability and death from cardiovascular diseases and strokes. Heart disease and stroke tend to kill more than cancer, AIDS, infections, accidents, homicide and suicides combined. AHA raises money via the Heart Fund campaign yearly to support research, education, and community programs such as blood pressure screenings, nutrition classes, wellness programs, etc.

Promotes research, prevention, and control of lung disease. They provide information through community activities. It is supported via voluntary efforts worldwide.

With Downs Syndrome, a child has been born with an extra chromosome, the heredity structure in every living cell. It's important to get facts; a child with Down Syndrome will experience retardation. How severe? Depends on the child. This organization helps those affected with the illness.

This program assists small and medium sized businesses to create drug-free workplace programs. It is implemented through local chambers who provide policies and technical aid.

Early intervention services are available to serve and assist families and children from birth to three years to enhance a child's development if he/she is determined eligible for the program. Case management services are provided for children and adolescents. Among the services are family trainig and counseling, health services, nutrition, physical therapy, and vision services. Children from birth to three years old with a diagnosis known to cause a delay in development are eligible for these services.

Medical and vocational rehabilitation services, support services to people with disabilities and their families, and information and referral. Speech and physical therapy services are available. Work evaluation and job placement services are available to those who are mentally retarded. Camp ASCCA provides summer camp fun for people of all ages with disabilities.

Care for children afflicted with congenial orthopedic deformities, problems resulting from orthopedic injuries and diseases of the bones, joints and muscles. They also treat patients with healed burns who may have developed orthopedic complications, scaring and deformity of the limbs.
