Americus-Sumter County Parks and Recreation Authority

I am a 1978 graduate of Americus High School. I attended South Georgia Technical College, where I received a diploma in Advanced Electronics. Later, I graduated from Georgia Southwestern State University with a degree in Applied Science.

For four years, I worked with Wolf Creek Golf Club as a course development technician, then later accepted a job with CE Minerals/Mulcoa, where I was an electrician from 1996 till January 2008. I spent ten years as a youth baseball coach and have officiated both basketball and softball for the GISA and GHSA for several years. I have also umpired in four National ASA softball championship tournaments.

My wife, Susie, and I have been married for 22 years. We have two children: Kate, who is 20 and a student at Georgia Southern University; and Adam, who's 18 and a senior at Southland Academy.

I enjoy working here because ... I love being around athletics and kids. This position allows me to watch young athletes of our community grow mentally and physically. Our department is really growing and expanding, and I'm glad to be a part of it.
