"I am a 1985 graduate of Americus High School. I attended San Jose City College from 1985-1987 as a football player, graduating with an Associates of Arts degree in Communications. I finished my education at the University of New Mexico (1987-1990) on a football scholarship and received a Bachelors Degree in History with a concentration in Black Studies in 1990.

I moved back to Americus in 1996 and worked as Program and Grant Director with Habitat For Humanity for five years. I am entering my eighth year with the Recreation Department. I am a member of GRPA, where I serve on several state and district level committees.

I am the proud father of Marshall D. Harris, who is 14 and in the 8th grade. Recently, I became engaged to Patricia McClary.

I enjoy working here because ...I grew up in the program, and worked here as a teenager. Now I have the chance to give kids a good healthy start that was afforded to me by this department."
